Professional Secretaries International is a nonprofit association founded in 1942 to improve secretarial performance standards through continuing education. The organization became international in 1954, with the addition of Canadian chapters. By 1997, PSI spanned five continents and claimed a combined total of over 9,000 non-U.S. affiliated members.
